Eating Arizona: St. Francis

Eating Arizona: St. Francis

When I shared my idea for this feature with my friends and family, everyone immediately began suggesting restaurants for me to try.  One of the things I love most about food is the way it brings people together and eating my way through Arizona has proven to be another way to spend quality time with people I love and sharing food that makes my soul happy!

Eating Arizona: St. Francis

Last weekend, my wonderful friend Gail and I made our regular trip to the Farmers Market then drove out Phoenix to eat at St. Francis.  This restaurant is one of her long-time favorites and as soon as I took a look at the menu I could see why.  How do you choose what to eat when every menu item makes your mouth water?

Because I’ve been on a huge baked egg kick recently, I ultimately decided to order the St. Francis take on this dish.  My food arrived in a delightfully rustic dish with perfectly toasted bread, roasted tomatoes, and very well-prepared eggs.  To top it all off, I kept finding seasonal veggies baked into my breakfast and the wine-braised beef fell apart in my mouth.  It was amazing.

I’m already dreaming about going back and trying some of their other food.  Such a perfect spot for brunch!!  I’m spending my weekend working and dreaming of cooler weather.  Right now it’s still in the 90’s in Phoenix and I feel like I’m melting away.  All I want to do is snuggle up in a cozy sweater and pair of perfectly broken-in jeans.  Anyone else?  If you’re local and you’re looking for a way to beat the heat maybe St. Francis is the way to go :).
