Recently I’ve had a bit of an obsession with the gilded things in life. When I moved back in with my parents after college I came home to my high school bedroom almost exactly how I had left it–lime green with magazine images plastered to the walls and color EVERYWHERE. It was overwhelming to say the least. So, I’m in the process of decorating my room so it’s less 16-year-old me and more bearable while I live with my parents. Due to my obsession with gold, in this process of decorating it’s only natural that some things go in boring and come out gold, gold, GOLD! My first victim was this rockin’ Grecian head I found at my work. When I saw it I knew it would make the perfect bookend so I took 15 minutes out of my day off and painted it gold.
I think the best part about this is if I ever get sick of the gold I can just paint it a different color. While I’m generally not a fan of DIY projects in my own decor (they tend to look like a kindergartener’s project) I think this is something I can really get behind.
