After almost a year of no knitting, I’ve been craving the needles again…the knitting needles that is :).
I FINALLY figured out a game plan for my blanket that I’m hoping to knit before my birthday and I’m working on executing it! Knitting is so cathartic for me and I’m really glad that I’m able to enjoy it again. I burnt myself out in the preparations for my etsy store last year so I definitely needed to take a break.
Are any of you knitters? What do you do to relax? I hope you’re all having a wonderful Friday evening.
Too much knitting going on over here for a real post today.
So much to do to get ready for September! How did it get here so quickly!?
Okay I’ll stop spreading my panic to you and get back to mass producing ear warmers :).

This sweet blog featured me yesterday and said some of the kindest things about me. I am so excited about it! Check it out by clicking here.
So a couple days ago, I got fed up with the world of facebook and decided that it was time for it to go. After deactivating my account I felt like I had cut my arm off. I have had a myspace/facebook since I was in 7th grade and I feel extremely removed now that it’s gone. I promised myself I’d leave it off for at least a week and see how life goes when I don’t have instant access to all my friends, present and past, with the click of my mouse. I know it’s only been about a day and a half, but I am shocked at how much I have crossed off of my to-do list. I finished a custom beanie order that I have been working on for a year and a half (it took me so long because my little brother’s friend wanted it and I didn’t really think he was serious. Turns out he was).
I also finished a cute scarf for my shop and got started on my last custom knit order! It should be done today depending on when I leave work.
NOT ONLY did I find time to finish those two knits, but I also wrote in my journal, read two chapters from two books that I’m currently reading, wrote my two articles and bio for a craft zine I am a part of, AND I PAINTED!
I’m not saying I spent 24 hours a day on facebook before, but I never truly realized how much time was spent there. It was far more than it should have been, clearly. So my question (and maybe challenge?) to you is, have you ever tried to go without facebook? If not, try staying away for a few days (or forever!?).
Before I head to work (my god I’m so so so late), I wanted to mention that I have a cute monthly newsletter starting up. If you’re interested in getting it, email me at SundayMorningSugar@yahoo.com. I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll say again that nothing on the newsletter will ever be seen on the blog (and there may be a coupon for my shop for my first round of subscribers!). So send me an email!!
Anyone who knows me knows that I always have about a million things going on at a time. I always read 4 or 5 books at once, am in the middle of 6 or 7 knitting projects, and when I watch TV or a movie it’s EXTREMELY rare for me to actually pay attention only to the movie. Generally I’m working on some kind of a project while it’s on. To some, this may seem like something that’s not so productive (I understand your point of view, really, I do!) but I love it! I love that as I work my way through all the books, I can read whatever I’m in the mood for at that moment rather than forcing myself to get through a book just so I can move along. Same goes for other projects. I like the slow process and I love that a whole cluster of things tend to finish up at about the same time. Having said that, I want to tell you all that I started yet another project this afternoon.
If you’ve been a reader for a while, you may have come to realize that I am really focused on my future. I thought it would be fun to use a shadowbox frame to create a sort of inspiration/vision board for long term goals I have. I want to hang it up in my new home so that I’ll always have a reminder to work hard for my goals. I’m pretty excited about it! I would share a picture but it’s just an empty frame right now. Nothing too exciting :). When it’s finished I’ll definitely share.
Speaking of finished projects….
I made this chunky scarf while I was in bed all last week. As much as I hate to do this, I took a quick picture with photobooth so I could share. I keep forgetting to take a good picture of it while there’s still enough light out so this will have to do for now. I love the color :)!! And the yarn is SOOO soft. I’m working on another one right now in the same color but with a different (more creative) stitch pattern. I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
That’s all I have for now.
Have a wonderful night
This post is really late and is going to be really short (my apologies).
1) I’m still looking for a graphic designer. If you know anyone or do design yourself, please email me.
2) Knitters/crocheters–where do you buy your yarn? I’m looking for somewhere that I can purchase in bulk since I seem to go through yarn so quickly. Buying it from cute yarn stores is breaking the ol’ bank
3) I was supposed to go to Green tonight (this wonderful vegan restaurant), but it was closed due to a water issue in the city of Phoenix. Depressing! So I ate at La Grande Orange instead. GREAT dinner with a WONDERFUL friend.
I’ll give you a real update tomorrow :)
